It’s easy to see the huge variety of devices exploding onto the market; Artificial Intelligence in the home, Internet of Things devices and Wearable Tech. But how are all these things actually impacting the way we live our lives and the way humans will evolve?
With an increase in smartphones, tablets and other devices, we’re no longer tied to our office desk. These devices mean we can, and do, work just about anywhere. The flip side is, we can also work at any time too. So, instead of following a rigid 9-5 work culture, many jobs now involve a more flexible approach to working where boundaries between home and work blur, employees have more freedom to balance home life with work, but they can also be expected to respond to emails and phone calls any time of any day.
PCBs have made it possible to introduce time-efficient shopping systems, such as Click and Collect, where handsets are used by grocery staff to ensure orders are filled for collection, leaving us to spend more time enjoying ourselves than worrying about where our next meal will come from.
Entertainment is now a part of our lives 24/7. We can catch up with our favourite Soaps on the train, or stream the latest hits directly from the web whilst waiting for the bus. PCBs give us the flexibility to be entertained wherever we are, and even impact how we control our devices.
