How we’re reducing environmental impact in PCB manufacture
Temperatures around the world are smashing all-time records. Glaciers are melting and sea levels are rising at their fastest rate in over 2000 years. It’s unlikely that we’ll be able to reverse this, but it’s up to us all to do our bit to protect the environment and be environmentally responsible in every way possible in the hope that we can stop further damaging our planet.
We’re committed to finding greener ways to reducing environmental impact in PCB manufacture for our customers.
It’s no mean feat, but we’re constantly re-evaluating the way we work to see if we can do things in ways that are kinder to the environment, reducing environmental impact in PCB manufacture.
We’ve got our sights set on achieving ISO 4001, the International Standard for improving environmental performance and reducing the impact we have on the environment. Working towards this will take some time though. In the meantime, there are plenty of ways that we are working on reducing our carbon footprint and preserving the planet for the next generation.
1. We’ve had solar panels fitted, reducing our CO2 footprint.
Solar panels are a sustainable way of harvesting energy from the sun’s rays. This energy reduces our dependency on oil and gas. This makes us less reliant on the burning of fossil fuels that emit CO2 and other gasses that are harmful to the environment for the energy that we need.
2. We recycle metal, fibreglass, and solid and liquid waste wherever we can.
These days much of the rubbish that we, as a nation, throw away goes to landfill. Not only can harmful chemicals deplete into the environment from landfill sites, much of this waste – if it composes at all, takes many hundreds of years to degrade.
During those many hundreds of years, it poses a threat to wildlife as well as sitting in landfill sites.
